Paving Contractor Services

You expect your paving contractor to sell asphalt mixes and install asphalt - but you may be surprised by what other services are available to you.

Grading and Earth Moving

Grading is essential to the paving process - even if you don’t often think of it. To get a smooth pave, you need a smooth base. Ground needs to be level, with all holes and ruts removed, and capable to provide enough support. Unfortunately where you want to pave doesn’t always look that way, so it’s up to your paving contractor to grade the area, preparing for paving.

If you’re paving an area connected to a preexisting pavement - say a road or parking lot - it’s even more essential that the grading be properly done so that the levels of connecting pavement are smooth and even.

What else can be involved?

  • Stabilizing the earth for proper support
  • Excavating dirt
  • Bulk earth moving
  • Stone base preparation
  • Top soiling

Underground Utilities

What’s underneath your dirt? You may not think about that until it’s too late. Proper drainage, water and sewer flow is essential to all property - especially when asphalt is laid over top of it!

Are you paving a flat surface? You’ll need sewer inlets to catch rainwater, to prevent water from sitting on your asphalt and weakening it. If your sewer, gas line, or water line will be underneath your pavement, manholes are recommended to provide easy access in case of service. Ever seen a manhole that isn’t quite level with the pavement? Sunken manholes can cause risks to pedestrians and drivers - and can also shorten the lifespan of your pavement.

Whether you’re installing new pavement or have preexisting sewer and water problems, these types of problems are never something you want to delay.

What other services may be available?

  • Erosion control
  • Storm water drainage and retention
  • Sewer catch basin installation and repair
  • Sewer construction and repair
  • Water mains
  • Relocating utility lines

Recycling Asphalt

Did you know asphalt can be recycled again and again without losing any of its physical properties? If you’re ready to tear up or refinish your asphalt surface, we can remove it for you and recycle all the asphalt in the process.

Are you planning on replacing the asphalt? Turn your current pavement into the stone base for your new surface. Instead of bringing into new gravel or dirt to be the base, we can break down and compact the old pavement into a satisfactory base. Once it settles, we can install new paving right over top of it.
